This morning as the student leaders of the mighty Makerere university were holding a press conference which resulted in giving the government an ultimatum of 48 hours to have the university open so that they can have their right to education, a group of about five Makerere students stormed the streets of Kampala clad in their red gowns protesting their dissatisfaction against the closure of the university.
The students who were being led Kato Paul, Ainebyona Ronald and Kahiji Edmond plus others by press time not yet identified were seen holding placards with “We want Makerere opened” while others were seen carrying suitcases and mattresses from old taxi park to Namirembe road. were arrested by the police and then taken to the central police station.
Police later intercepted their movements arresting them and later transferring them to the central police station.
