Following arrests, injuries and beating of some Makerere students who participated in the Age Limit (K’ogikwatako) demonstration on Thursday, the latest we have received is that these students are warming up for another round.
According Collins Derrick who was among the people that spread the demonstration message, they [students] will not give up and are prepared to march again on Tuesday when the age limit bill is expected to be tabled. Collins adds that they are prepared to protect the Ugandan Constitution especially the lifting of the age limit (article 102b).
“After having a long day full of battles, finally our voices have been heard. We condemn police for all sorts of injuries they have caused on our students and the numerous fake arrests they made. We shall not give up and on Tuesday we are marching again to parliament to liberate the country from Mafias.” He posted.
