Many students at Makerere University are worried of sitting their exams before they get to know how they performed the previous semester. Many faculties and courses have not yet relayed last semester’s results.
Many lecturers however blame the delay on the students and the strike that led to the closure of the university for close to three months late last year. Some other Lecturers blame the delay on the lack of incentives or motivation from the university while others blame the salary that always comes late.
“My parents think I don’t go to school anymore because I haven’t yet showed them results from last semester and efforts to explain the situation have all been futile,” Gloria a Development Studies student commented.
Students at the University are set to start exams on 4th April, 2017 and many lecturers have promised that results will probably be out on 26th May, 2017. However, students are not yet content with this promise. “They have always been promising to release the results but in vain, we have waited for too long anxiety might kill us,” John a student at Makerere University shared.
We shall keep you posted.
