The partnership between the academia and the private sector has further been strengthened by the launch of construction of a new resource center at Makerere University.
The Shs 124 billion Mutebile Center of Excellence For Private Sector Development is to be constructed at the university in honour of the central bank governor Prof. Emmanuel Tumusiime.
According to the university Vice Chancellor Prof. John Ddumba Ssentamu, the project will be a hub of Information, Research, Innovation and knowledge transfer.
He adds that Makerere will not the only beneficiary of the project but the entire country and East African Region.
The project whose construction is estimated to kick off in three months will serve as a database to readily provide information across all sections to the general public and benefit the private sector, according to Mr. Nuha Mwesigwa Akiiki, the Executive Director MUPSF.
