As Makerere University 72nd graduation commenced on Monday May 23rd, 2022, graduands were seen all over the university premises happily clad in graduation gowns.
To Lumumba boys, the set of the day’s graduates wouldn’t be complete without their own Gongom -a sculpture positioned at the entrance of Lumumba hall sharing the attire.
Lumumba hall boys decided to have Gongom dressed in a graduation gown as well and had a photoshoot with him to celebrate his ideal ‘achievements’.
Gongom is a respected sculpture at Lumumba hall. Gongom is believed to be the head of the command force who watches over Lumumba premises, protecting its residents from danger.
Makerere University’s 72nd graduation commenced on Monday May 23rd, 2022 and 12474 graduands are expected to graduate by closure of the ceremony on Friday May 27th, 2022.
