In an extraordinary display of academic brilliance, Abdul Latif Umar Bagoole has emerged as the standout star on Day 3 of Makerere University’s 75th graduation ceremony.
Makerere University Business School (MUBS) students took center stage at the Freedom Square.
This achievement comes just a day after Bachelor of Science graduate Mubiru Enock Joel was celebrated for his exceptional CGPA of 4.91, receiving an accolade and a cash prize of Shs1 million as the best science student.
Bagoole, who graduated with a Bachelor of Leisure and Hospitality Management, achieved an almost perfect CGPA of 4.97, earning him dual recognition as both the best overall student and the best performer in Humanities.
His exceptional achievement was rewarded with an accolade and a cash prize of Shs1 million, marking the second consecutive day of celebrating outstanding academic excellence at the ceremony.
Today’s MUBS ceremony showcased graduates from various business and management programs, till tomorrow, Thursday 16th January.
This will see an impressive array of MUBS programs, including doctoral candidates, masters programs in Business Administration, Science in Entrepreneurship, Marketing, International Business, and Hospitality and Tourism Management.
The five-day graduation ceremony, running until Friday, January 17, 2025, will see a total of 13,662 students receive their credentials.
The statistics show 143 PhDs (64 female, 79 male), 1,813 Masters degrees (768 female, 1,045 male), 243 Postgraduate Diplomas (96 female, 147 male), 11,455 Undergraduate Degrees (6,369 female, 5,086 male), and 8 Undergraduate Diplomas (2 female, 6 male).
Tomorrow’s ceremony will continue with another cohort of MUBS students, including those from Computing and Informatics, Management, Commerce, and Procurement and Logistics Management programs.
