As Makerere University prepares for its 75th graduation ceremony, one name is creating extraordinary buzz in academic circles: Mubiru Enock Joel.
The soon-to-be graduate has achieved what many consider nearly impossible – a stunning CGPA of 4.91 in his Bachelor of Science in Physics and Mathematics.
Set to graduate on Tuesday, January 14th, 2025, Mubiru has already caught the attention of prestigious institutions, including the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS), a leading pan-African network of STEM excellence centers.
His remarkable academic performance has prompted scholarship offers for advanced studies, marking him as one of Uganda’s most promising young mathematicians.
“The offers started coming in even before graduation,” noted a university source. Among those extending opportunities is AIMS, which has expressed interest in having Mubiru join their fully funded Masters program in Mathematical Sciences.
While excelling in his studies, Mubiru has already begun making his mark professionally, working as an Operations Analyst at Xeno Investment. He also shares his mathematical expertise globally through online tutoring, reaching students across international borders.
Dr. Fatumah Atuhaire, a PhD holder based in the UK, publicly endorsed Mubiru’s potential on social media, encouraging him to consider AIMS’s prestigious program. “Congratulations Enock! Could you please consider applying to @AIMS_Next. Applications are now open for a fully funded Masters degree in Mathematical Sciences,” she tweeted.
Despite his remarkable achievements, Mubiru remains grounded, expressing profound gratitude to the Almighty who guided him through his undergraduate journey.
As the graduation week approaches, all eyes will be on this young mathematical genius who has not only mastered complex equations but has also solved the equation for academic excellence with near perfection.
