Airtel Uganda has made a generous contribution towards Makerere University centennial celebrations.
Airtel, through its Human Resource director Ms Flavia Lwanga presented a cheque of UGX 20 million to Makerere University.
The cheque was received by the institution’s vice chancellor, Professor Barnabas Nawangwe as part of Airtel’s commitment to the Makerere at 100 activities.
“We are pleased to register our initial commitment of UGX 20 million to support Makerere University in realizing these projects.” Ms Lwanga said as she handl over the cheque.
Ms Flavia Lwanga further thanked Makerere University for always providing talented recruits that help Airtel succeed.
Professor Nawangwe commended Airtel Uganda for its support to Makerere University over the years.
Makerere University will celebrate 100 years of existence in October 2022 and preparations are underway.
The institution prides in providing quality education since its establishment in 1922.
As Makerere University marks 100 years of academic excellence, a number of organizations have contributed towards its centennial celebrations.
