Makerere University select committee on students guild operations has started investigations into the conduct of various stakeholders during the students guild operations.
The committee has officially commenced operation, with a call for proposals and personal opinions about the guild processes.
The six-member committee is looking forward to a conclusive finding that will aid the University council in its next course of action regarding the fate of guild elections.
The committee is therefore calling upon students, staff and all stakeholders of Makerere University to tender in there opinions about the subject matter in question.
Makerere University council held an emergency meeting on July 15th following the disturbing scenes that had unfolded on July 14th.
Supporters of NUP and FDC had had a collision on July 14th that ensued into a scuffle in which a UCU student was killed.
Having heard of what had transpired, Makerere University council immediately suspended the guild elections and leadership, and called for an emergency meeting the next day.
During the emergency meeting, the council formed a committee to investigate the operations of the guild in order to have political sanity in the future.
