Makerere University Lumumba Hall fraternity has been through trying times for the past four weeks due to the recurring deaths of it’s members.
On Friday, the hall that is currently undergoing renovation registered a fresh death.
Amanya Ambrose, a fresh graduate holding a bachelor’s degree of science in computer engineering and former Lumumbist (Resident of Lumumba Hall), was pronounced dead on Friday. Amanya was reportedly involved in a tragic accident.
Amanya served as the 85th GRC of School of engineering and was a resident of Lumumba Hall before it was closed for renovation.
Amanya who will be buried on Sunday joins his two other colleagues from the same hall that were buried a few days ago.
Lumumba Hall residents have had teary eyes from June 21st when Sebastian Batiyo alia Rasta Batio was pronounced dead. Sebastian who had been missing for a week was found dead in Mulago mortuary. Batiyo was a student of performing arts and a beloved Lumumbist.
Then came the death of Byamukama Medard, barely a fortnight after Rasta had been laid to rest. Byamukama, a visually impaired student of social works died at his sick bed on July 13th. Byamukama was a Lumumbist who, at the time of death, had found refuge at Mitchell hall.
Amanya Ambrose has joined the duo. Amanya will be laid to rest at his ancestral home in Rukungiri on Sunday.
