Uganda’s premier academic institution Makerere university, through Makerere convocation has unleashed plans to start a fundraising drive meant to facilitate the perimeter wall project.
According to publicity secretary of Makerere convocation Dr Deus Kamunyu Muhwezi said the convocation plus the students guild will officially launch the fundraising drive on Tuesday, February 21, 2017.
This comes after the university administration handed over the master plan of the perimeter wall project on January 9, 2017 to the university convocation.
The drive is going to be spearheaded by an independent board which will be over seen by the university’s convocation and the university chancellor Ezra Suruma.
The prior objective of this whole drive is to build a new image for the university and develop a culture of giving back especially to the. Therefore, the whole alma mater of the university is called upon to take part in the noble cause.
