Makerere University which is well known for its endless strikes has yet again begun another displaying more signs that male many doubt it’s ranking in Africa. The staff strike is silent and only students can easily tell, but it has been well coordinated through corridor talk but have been shy to publically announce it due to fear of being sacked.
Staff at the the College of Computing in Information Sciences have decided to silently strike, or has been going on for about a week with staff especially non teaching staff being reluctant to teach, Labs remain closed and projector room remains closed meaning that those lecturers who are willing to teach have no teaching aides like projectors, generators are not switched on meaning our recess Term is terrible.
Sources tell us that some Makerere staff at CIT have been laid off and there is still confusion at the faculty. Some classes haven’t seen facilitators for weeks.
That’s our Makerere, don’t get surprised if all the alumni start walk to work in the future because nothing is solved before striking in Makerere.
