The Makerere University community was hit by sad news yesterday when Prof. Joseph Oonyu from the School of Education went to be with the Lord.
According to his sister, Ms Jane Atina, the deceased died onTuesday morning while he was being rushed to the hospital in Mpererwe.
Ms Atina, said that the deceased developed a running stomach the night before and that ‘he felt like vomiting but he couldn’t vomit.’

Before that, Prof. Oonyu had attended the a UNESCO meeting and a UBC talk show the on Monday and had been in good spirit and shape.
There will be a requiem mass at St. Augustine Chapel Makerere on Thursday 15th October at 10 am.
