Uganda has lost its most beloved son AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesa who Makerere University counts among its star alumni. Makerere University Convocation counted AIGP Felix Kaweesa among many who support the progress of Makerere University and most especially the efforts towards the achievement of a secure and peaceful campus. He gave the best to his beloved nation in a relatively short service as a Police Officer, fondly expressed in his professional conduct while on duty. Many of our Staff and Alumni can attest to this.
His demise at the hands of heartless assassins in the morning hours of today has been received with shock by the Convocation.
The Staff and Alumni of Makerere University believe in justice, peace, unity and progress of the world people. We hope that our members, who over years have been commissioned with utmost confidence to serve humanity by our alma mater Makerere University, will emulate AIGP Kaweesa and his ideals in public service.
The convocation implores all to rise to the service of our nations’ the way Felix passionately did, pursuant of a much safer and peaceful world. Let this heartless act multiply the UPF and other security forces resolve to secure Uganda and Ugandans looking forward.
On behalf of all the Staff and Alumni of Makerere University, the Convocation Executive and on my own behalf, I send our heartfelt condolences to AIGP Kaweesa’s family, UPF family and the Government of Uganda for this great loss.
AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesa will forever be our beloved son and may his soul rest in peace.
