The latest coming from Makerere University deputy Vice chancellor Professor Barnabus Nawangwe indicates that following a lot of complaints from the public, its deputy academic registrar Margaret Etuusa has been suspended for extortion.
Margaret reportedly collected money from parents and some students without any Official order from the University. Apparently, Margaret worked with a certain company which collected shs 3000 and 5000 for keeping phones for everyone who carried them to the ceremony following a rule that did not allow any gadget on the recently concluded graduation function.
Our Snoops further reveal that Prof Barnabus explained to both media and Police why Margaret had to be suspended in order to allow investigations move smoothly and also cool down the angry people that raised complaints against her.
Professor Barnabus has not revealed exactly what they will do to her but rather noted that Margaret violated the regulations and laws that govern her contract with the university by allowing a yet to be identified company to illegally collect money from graduation attendants.
