Less than two months after graduation, it’s on a sad note that Makerere University Engineering fresh graduate Farouk Kabandana was on Monday morning founding lying lifeless along the Kampala northern by pass.
Colleagues to the deceased told this publication that he (Kabandana) was knocked dead on his way to work.
Katureebe Dennis, a close friend to the late, wrote an emotional eulogy saying: “Uganda’s newest Civil Engineer is gone to be with the Lord. We have lost one of Ugandan’s Best brains in a hit and run accident. He was Uganda’s best student who scored 4 at Buddo Junior school, 10 in 10 in O’level at St Mary’s Kitende, 20 in A level at Uganda Matyr’s Namugongo.”
“I lived with him, and he was a humble, obedient, pious, down to earth young man who never allowed such unequaled success to derail him or get into his head. We are told to be brave and to accept God’s will but how can we be brave in this situation. It is the way for us all they say, but this was too fast for Farouk.”
However, contrary to the earlier report, it is said that the deceased’s body was found squashed by vehicles to near un-recognition along the highway. It’s with this basis that family suspects that he could have been murdered and body dumped on the road, subsequently being crashed by cars.
The late Kabandana will be laid to rest today (Wednesday) at his hometown in Bururuma, Bunyaruguru.
May his soul Rest in Peace.
