Makerere University’s very own Guild President, Churchill Sentamu, has earned massive praise from university management after pulling off what’s being hailed as the most organized and lit Freshers’ Ball in years!
In an official letter dated October 13, 2025, Dr. Winifred Kabumbuli, the Dean of Students, applauded Sentamu and his Guild team for hosting a smooth, well-coordinated event that left new students buzzing with excitement.
“The event was well-planned and the students had a wonderful time,” wrote Dr. Kabumbuli, adding that she was “particularly impressed by the discipline and decorum displayed by the students throughout the event.”
Held on Friday, October 10, the Freshers’ Ball turned Makerere into a full-blown party zone. New students showed up dressed to impress, local DJs kept the beats rolling, and the vibe was pure energy from start to finish.
Sources say the Guild team worked round the clock to make sure everything—from the lights to the lineup—was on point. Even senior students admitted it was a level-up from previous years.
“Churchill and his team really killed it this time,” one finalist told CampusBee. “It was classy, fun, and drama-free — we’re proud!”
The Dean’s letter, which was also copied to the Vice Chancellor and other top administrators, didn’t just congratulate Sentamu — it stamped him as a serious campus leader with vision and style.
“Your efforts have set a high standard for future events,” Dr. Kabumbuli noted.
The letter has since gone viral among Makerere students, with many hailing Sentamu’s leadership and professionalism.
For those who didn’t know — Churchill Sentamu isn’t just any student leader. He’s a nephew to musician-turned-politician Bobi Wine, and it looks like leadership clearly runs in the family.
While Bobi Wine has made his mark on Uganda’s political scene, Churchill is fast carving out his own legacy on campus — mixing activism, creativity, and a knack for bringing students together.
