Makerere Lass Crowned University Queen

In a hotly contested beauty pageant, you would most likely expect that it would be hard for the judges to pick even any to be crowned queen of all universities. However, always trust a judge in making that one final decision that disapproves your thoughts and sends into a shock nodding in approval.

Miss University1 — Contestants dance their way to the crown

At the second Miss University pageantry that took place at International University of East Africa auditorium, glamour and beauty was paraded as the ladies from all over 12 universities fielded their beauties in a bid to choose the realest queen of all Universities. At the end of the day, Makerere University’s Lilian Luzindana was crowned Miss University queen and Miss Creativity beating the other 11 contestants. The first and second runners-up crown went to Nkumba University’s Wanyanna Caroline and KIU’s Ochole Racheal who also had the most votes on the site hence scooping the Miss Popularity too.
The other notable winner was Kyambogo University’s Nakandi Sandra who walked away with the Miss Photogenic and Miss Talent crowns.

The event consisted of five different sessions that included the open dance where the contestants treated the audience to a fun-filled dance as they ushered in the event. The introduction followed next as every contestant’s profile was read out to much amazement and excitement which aroused chants in the crowd. The creativity and talent sessions followed in where the Judges eye caught MAK’s Lillian and KYU’s Sandra respectively to scoop these pageants.

The final evening wear closed the event colorfully as the contestants looked angelic but grieve was written on the faces of the ‘losers’ as Makerere University took this home but surely that’s how the game goes.

The other contestants that represented include IUEA’s Arianne Ndaliko, MUBS’ Murungi Doreen, Muteesa 1 University’s Nakimuli Winnie,Ndejje University’s Namuddu Sandra, St Lawrence University’s Namyalo Winnie, YMCA’s Akoel Rebecca, UTAMU’s Hajarah Lutaakome and Busitema University’s Nalubombwe Sandra.

The event organizer attributed the success of the pageantry to the intelligent ladies that represented in the pageant and called upon more ladies to participate next year. The beauty queen will have her tuition paid for a year and the runners up will have home appliances given to them and many other deals from the sponsors plus a starttimes decoder for every contestant.
