Coronavirus as an epidemic has been on the trend for the recent days and still a trend up to now having claimed innocent lives of over 5,000 people and leaving more than 100,000 peoplenursing the conditions of the virus.
Yesterday 13th March, Uganda’s immediate neighbor Kenya announced its first case of the epidemic and a few hours later Ethiopia also announced its first case.
Congo has already fallen a victim of the disease and the best solution for Uganda is now to do whatever it takes to avoid the disease through avoidance counter measures.
Makerere University through its official social media pages came out yesterday to announce one of its contribution towards the fight of the epidemic in the country. The institution, after finding it out that most people can access the internet came up with an idea of developing a website which will be published today.
This website will be giving people all ideas on how to avoid Coronavirus, what to do when you come across a person you expect to be a victim of the disease plus giving updates on the status of the virus like the number of deaths recorded, number of victims with the virus and those who have been quarantined.
For other people who can not access the internet, the government already issued safe measures of avoiding the epidemic and is still spreading the tips on how to avoid it.
