Makerere Law School (MLS) has got a new face following the completion of the new administration block.
Work at Makerere’s law school is currently at standstill as property and documents are being shifted from the old to new block. The shifting commenced on June 30th.
The three storied building whose foundation stone was laid by minister of education and sports Janet Museveni in July 2021, will host lecturer room, office spaces, library and a Moot Court Room.
The building is estimated to have consumed about 7 billion shillings during its construction. The work was undertaken by Symbion as the consultants and Ms CK Associates as the Contractor.
Makerere Law School has been operating within the old block since 1971 and the building that has housed law school for 52 years is set to be demolished.
With the new block, Makerere law school will increase the number of students enrolled for the prestigious law course due to the increased number of lecture rooms.
