The Management of Makerere University School of Law (SoL) has issued a strong warning to the public over a fraudulent communication circulating about a purported Bachelor of Laws (LLB) pre-entry examination coaching programme.
In a disclaimer dated January 5, 2026, the School of Law clarified that it has not approved, sanctioned, or authorised any form of coaching or training related to the LLB pre-entry examinations, contrary to claims made in the circulating advert.
According to the statement signed by the Dean of the School of Law, Dr Ronald Naluwairo, the alleged training—said to be scheduled to commence on January 5, 2026, at the School of Law main building—is fake and has no connection whatsoever to Makerere University.
“No such training has been approved, sanctioned, or authorized by the School of Law. The SoL does not and will never conduct such trainings,” the statement reads.
University management further warned that the individuals behind the advert are fraudsters and cautioned members of the public against engaging with them.

“The individuals behind the advert are fraudsters. You contact them at your own risk,” the disclaimer added.
The warning comes amid growing concern over scams targeting prospective law students, particularly during admission and examination periods, when demand for preparatory material is high.
Makerere University urged applicants and the general public to rely only on official university communication channels for accurate information regarding admissions, examinations, and academic programmes.
The School of Law reaffirmed its commitment to upholding academic integrity and protecting prospective students from exploitation by unscrupulous individuals.
