Under the theme ‘Inclusion and Collected Action’, Makerere University MasterCard students were last Saturday morning involved in cleaning part of Mbuya community. The cleaning and sensitization exercise was conducted in Giza Giza, a village in Mbuya 1 Zone 6.

The successful philanthropic event was organized by Makerere University students who are sponsored by MasterCard Foundation. By 9:00 am, these students had already arrived at Giza Giza Conference Hall which was the meeting and starting point.

According to Narinda Sheila the Council Representative for MasterCard Scholarship Program at Makerere University, the students decided to clean parts of Mbuya community as a way of celebrating International Give Back Day which is celebrated in November.

Among the activities included door-to-door community sensitization where Giza Giza residents were taught different ways of avoiding poor sanitation-related diseases.
