The university of Makerere is set to phase out about 31 courses. In a move in line with the President’s suggestion. The university seeks to reduce its costs, identity it’s needs and watch her expenditurHe according to Miss Rita Namisango the Muk PRO.
“There’s a select committee engaging in consultations that will provide an informed study to the University Council, appointed a committee headed by Mr Bruce Kabasa . Other members include: Prof Barnabas Nawangwe, deputy vice chancellor [Finance], Prof J.B. Nyakana, Prof Jacob Agea, Dr Tumps Ireeta, Dr Margaret Mangeni and Prof Kiyaga Nsubuga.
Mr Kabasa yesterday confirmed the move and the need to review the progress of the implementation of the 70 per cent incentive given to staff members after their strike.
