Makerere University has officially opened applications for undergraduate private admissions for the 2025/2026 academic year.
According to an official notice released on April 16th by the Office of the Minister of Academic Affairs, applications will be accepted from April 16th to May 20th, 2025.
In the announcement, Mr. Kiganda Julius, the 91st Minister of Academic Affairs, emphasized that the application process is strictly online.
Prospective students are required to access the institution’s admissions portal at https://apply.mak.ac.ug to submit their applications.
“I am pleased to inform you that the online applications for undergraduate private admissions for the academic year 2025/2026 at Makerere University are open starting on Wednesday 16th April 2025 to 20th May 2025,” stated Kiganda in the official communication.
The university has highlighted specific eligibility requirements, noting that applicants must have obtained at least two principal passes in the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations to be considered for admission.
The notice strongly warns against document forgery, stating that presenting falsified academic credentials will result in “automatic cancellation of admission, revocation of the award where applicable and prosecution in the courts of law.”
