Makerere University has announced the Graduate Admission Test (GAT) for shortlisted Master of Business Administration (MBA) applicants for the 2025/2026 academic year.
The Academic Registrar’s office confirmed that the examination will take place on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 9:00 AM at the College of Business and Management Sciences (CoBAMS).
All shortlisted candidates are required to pay a non-refundable examination fee of UGX 100,000 plus UGX 3,000 in bank charges before the deadline of Thursday, July 10, 2025.
The university has emphasized that payment must be made strictly through the official portal at pay.mak.ac.ug, where applicants will need to provide their name, email address, and phone number.
The payment process requires candidates to select “GAT test 2021” under the “MBA GAT TEST” option to generate a Payment Reference Number (PRN) for UGX 100,000.
After generating the PRN, candidates must proceed to any bank to complete the payment and subsequently email a scanned copy of the payment receipt to deanbiz.bams@mak.ac.ug for verification.
The announcement specifically applies to students who applied to pursue an MBA at Makerere University’s main campus through the College of Business and Management Sciences.
The university has outlined strict examination protocols, requiring candidates to bring valid identification documents including a National Identity Card, driver’s license, or passport.
