Musiri David, a Makerere University Bachelor of Commerce student has spent the night in coolers following a People Power demonstration he participated in. Musiri and his seven other colleagues were on Tuesday roughed up by Police after they stormed streets to protest over lack of food during the COVID-19 lockdown.
Former Makerere University Researcher Dr. Stella Nyanzi, who has a close relationship with Musiri, has already reached out to the Police to see that the People Power student supporter is released but all in vain.

According to Nyanzi, she was forced to stay at Nateete Police station even beyond curfew time debating the knowledge of persuading the cops to free Musiri and his seven colleagues. The group was arrested from Makindye after Police learned of their pan-banging act, which was slowly getting attention.
“I was in the middle of my birthday party, when I received news of the arrest of my lover Musiri David and seven other peaceful protestors. They were arrested while peacefully protesting by banging their empty pots and pans in Makindye. The eight protestors are locked up at Nateete Police Station.” Nyanzi’s Facebook post reads in part.
Nyanzi was still at the mentioned Police Station at 9PM and it is not clear whether she spent her birthday (night) with Police.
Musiri has been arrested several times in People Power-related strikes as well as those against the Makerere University Administration. Following the COVID-19 lockdown, Musiri was forced to stay at Nyanzi’s home for some time and the two have since forged a stronger relationship.
