Jonathan Rwothnga, a Makerere University student awaiting graduation in January with a Bachelors of Law degree has passed on.
The deceased has passed on under mysterious conditions as a report about his death has not been carried out yet.
The 25-year-old has left the world with his own graduation hanging in balance as his institution of learning remains closed.
According to his cousin Ronald Odongo, the deceased is said to have been involved in an accident at 1 a.m from which he is purported to have died. However, Odongo further stresses that the late Jonathan’s body had no injuries or bruises and he wonders what sort of accident it was.
“I received a call at 1am from a strange person asking me to rush to Mulago and see my cousin who got involved in an accident. Once I got there, I was shocked to be met by the lifeless body of my cousin Jonathan. I still haven’t come to terms (with the fact) that he is gone,” Odongo reminisces.
Odongo, who was filled with nostalgia, has very fond and fresh memories of the deceased. So fresh you can feel his heart weep for Jonathan.
“We were due to have dinner with him tonight to discuss goat rearing. Always clad in suits, he spoke eloquently on matters pertaining law. We will always miss you Jonathan. You have left a huge void in our hearts”, he said.
When contacted, the Makerere Law Society President Jordan Tumwesigye wasn’t devoid of sadness either.
“It is sad to lose such a promising student for the University and the nation at large. Legal brains play a pivotal role in institution building and this loss is alarming especially considering he was awaiting his graduation. May Jonathan’s soul rest in peace.”
