Former Makerere University guild aspirant and chairperson of the FDC league was a guest of the state for a few hours last night. The lanky Mwine Musa disqualified from the 2014-2015 guild race on academic grounds was apprehended on grounds of contravention of electoral rules.
Police accused Mwine Musa and Kamugisha Jimmy (both Mitchell hall residents) of pulling down Museveni posters around the Main Gate roundabout replacing them with Besigye posters. The two got arrested in the dead of the night preceding Monday daylight, at about 1 am.
Vehemently denying the charges, Mwine said; “I was only pinning up Besigye posters in preparation for the arrival of the people’s president.”
Fearing a possible backlash from the slowly growing group of rowdy Mitchell hall students. Makerere police bit the bitter pill and released the duo. The students didn’t retire to bed celebrating instead the release of their leaders.
The current FDC MUK chairperson Katana Brian intimated to this news portal about how preparations were in high gear to cover the event anticipated to blow Makerere away.
Below are pics of the handcuffed fellows.
Besigye is poised to hold a rally at the proverbial Harvard of Africa later today.
