Fresh information coming in from Makerere university indicates that students expected to graduate early next year will be able to access their transcripts before their graduation. In a brief statement issued by the University’s Vice Chancellor, Pro Barnabas Nawangwe took to Twitter to inform all the concerned stakeholders.

According to Nawangwe, students willing to pick their transcripts will access them at any time before graduation after an official communication from the management.“Transcripts for the graduating students will be ready before graduation. Those who wish to pick them before graduation are free to do so. When they are ready we will inform the public,” Nawangwe posted.

His announcement comes following various threats of strikes by Makerere students who have been complaining over delayed transcripts. In a bid to avoid these strikes, the University management tightened the examination result system, something that has enabled early access of the academic transcripts. The next batch of graduands will be passed out on 19th January 2018 at the Wandegeya based campus.

Here in Nwagwe’s tweet

We commend the new administration of Prof Nawangwe upon this great move.
