The 87th Makerere Students Guild Leadership has through its Academic Affairs Ministry, written a letter to the Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Academic Affairs requesting that in the 2021/2022 Academic Year, Class Representatives be facilitated for their work.
In petitioning the University Management, the Guild Academic Affairs Minister, Hon. Nnakimbowa Winfred has contended that the rationale behind the facilitation of Class Representatives is that they play a fundamental role in being the students immediate mediators with the lecturers and that they are tasked with being correspondents, receiving information to and from the students and lecturers. To that end, Hon. Nnakimbowa has noted that there is need to lessen the burden on Class Representatives in form of airtime and data facilitation.
Ultimately, it has been proposed that the facilitation be made at the beginning of every semester so as to ease the conduct of academic work and the students academic welfare at the University.
