The students of Uganda’s best University (at least for strikes) have yet again driven their voices through violent channels so that they can be heard.
The main purpose of this strike is the enormous increment in graduation fees from 90,000/- to 220,000/- which happens to be am exaggerated increment that must be explained. Other reasons include the delayed posting of results online.
The strike had lectures and a test at the College of Engineering stopped. The entire campus is full of teargas and police has locked all entrances, the strike is stretching out to the student populated areas of Kikoni and kikumi-kikumi.
