Makerere University is advancing its initiative to renovate its halls of residence, with Mary Stuart Hall set to undergo significant improvements.
Today, the project graced awith an exciting presentation by a group of Makerere University architecture students.
The students, under the supervision of Arch. Dr. Kenneth Semwogerere, presented their innovative proposals to enhance Mary Stuart Hall in a session attended by the university’s vice chancellor, Professor Barnabas Nawangwe.
Their presentation showcased various design improvements aimed at modernizing the hall while preserving its historical significance.
The renovation of Mary Stuart Hall is part of a broader effort by Makerere University, which began in 2022, to improve the living conditions and facilities in its halls of residence.
Lumumba Hall, the first to undergo renovation, is nearing completion, setting a positive precedent for the upcoming work on Mary Stuart Hall.
