Well as the defiance campaign is currently under scrutiny by the government and by security organs in the country ahead of the swearing-in ceremony due tomorrow, this has not stopped FDC supporters from pledging unending support to their candidate Kizza Besigye.
The FDC leaders at Makerere University whose names are withheld on request have announced that they shall escort their president, Kizza Besigye Kiffefe for swearing-in.
Makerere University has been a fishing ground for FDC and that’s not only because Besigye is a special alumni. The likes of Gerald Byarunhanga, Doreen Nyanjura among others were fished from the Ivory Tower.
“We shall not stand down, we cannot continue living under the current repressive government…We must swear in our President (Besigye)…we believe he can solve the issues at Makerere, including firing Prof Ddumba,” one of the leaders lamented amidst cheers from his colleagues.
As the country prepares for a social media blackout, only God knows how these students shall mobilize themselves for the swearing-in of their president, Kizza Besigye who has been taken to Naggalama police station this afternoon.
