Last week had one of the best days for activist and lecturer, Dr. Stella Nyanzi whom the court favoured and tasked Makerere to pay 120 million as damages caused to her.
In addition, the High Court futher asked the university to reinstate Nyanzi back to her job, promote her and pay the salary that she had to receive for the past 8 years.
Barnabas Nawangwe, the university Vice Chancellor has revealed the fact the university is scheduling an appeal to the outcomes of all the three cases that were ruled out last week which incorporated the case of Dr. Stella Nyanzi..
The two other cases include that of Yusuf Sserunkuuma, a PhD student whose studies were frustrated by the university and a one Etuusa, the Deputy Academic Registrar who was suspended in 2017 in a phone scandal of the graduation ceremony that happened in that year.
The total amount of money that the university has to allocate to these three totals to 345 million and according the Nawangwe, the University has not disobeyed its tribunals but instead has to get the correct court ruling.
