According to the programme, the Chancellor Prof Ezra Suruma will confer degrees and award diplomas to over 11,000 graduands in a partially virtual graduation ceremony. The ceremony will kick off on Monday 17th May and colleges expected to graduate that day include; College of Natural Sciences, College of Health Sciences as well as the School of Law.

The College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, College of Education and External Studies will graduate on Tuesday 18th May during the long awaited 71st graduation ceremony.

Makerere University Business School (MUBS) graduands will graduate on Thursday 20th May while other colleges will graduate in accordance with the programme attached at the end of this article.

The University Vice Chancellor Prof Barnabas Nawangwe told this website few months ago that the ceremony will be partially virtual in a bid to slow the spread of COVID-19. A few graduands will be invited to attend the ceremony physically while majority will follow the function virtually on zoom, YouTube and other video streaming platforms.
