Makerere University Business School (MUBS) is set to host its 29th Annual International Management Conference from September 23rd to 26th, 2025 in Kampala, under the theme “Revolutionizing Skills-Based Education for Socio-Economic Transformation and Employability.”

The conference will bring together a diverse group of participants including international experts, academicians, researchers, students, industry professionals, and government and NGO stakeholders for a four-day exchange of ideas, innovation, and policy-oriented discussions.

According to MUBS Senior Public Relations Officer Simon Peter Odoki, this year’s conference will take a bold approach in tackling real-world challenges by focusing on the urgent need for skills development and education reform.

“The theme we’ve chosen—‘Revolutionizing Skills-Based Education for Socio-Economic Transformation and Employability’—speaks directly to the gaps we must address as a country and a region,” Odoki said. “We need to shift away from theory-heavy education models and prioritize practical, skills-driven learning if we are to create sustainable employment opportunities and meaningful economic growth.”

He added that the event is not just an academic exercise, but a platform for action.

“By holding this conference from September 23rd to 26th, we are bringing together the right minds at the right time to influence policy, curriculum, and corporate practices that directly impact our youth and workforce,” Odoki noted.

Participants are encouraged to submit abstracts (300–500 words) and full papers (up to 7,000 words in APA 7th Edition format) by the deadline of July 30th, 2025, via the portal: https://aimc.mubs.ac.ug.

For further inquiries, participants can contact the organizing committee via email at 29aimc@mubs.ac.ug or reach out directly to PRO Simon Peter Odoki at gkituvi@mubs.ac.ug.
