In a letter written by the Ag. Dean of Students, Mr. Peter Rivan Muhereza, to the Makerere Guild Minister for Student Affairs, the Office of the Dean of Students has given clarity pertaining to the accommodation of government-sponsored non-resident students.
It will be recalled that the Guild Minister for Students Affairs, Hon. Isaac Bua, had previously written to the Dean’s Office requesting the Dean to issue guidelines on how government-sponsored non-resident students would be accommodated during the recess term.
It is in light of that request that the Dean’s Office has intimated that alive to the fact that recess term started on 17th January 2021 and will end on 29th January 2022, the Dean’s Office is ready to process the food allowances of the concerned students and is only waiting for the Hall Wardens to forward the names and bank account details of the eligible students.
The Dean’s Office has ultimately guided that all government-sponsored non-resident students will be, as is the norm, accommodated in their halls of attachment for the entire recess period.
