In response to a request from Caleb Gashema, Makerere University Students’ Guild Minister for Academic Affairs, the university has granted a two-week extension to the registration deadline.
Initially, the free registration period was to end on October 18, 2024.
However, students now have until November 1, 2024, to register without penalty.
The original deadline for fee payment remains November 1, 2024. After this, late registration would have incurred a UGX 50,000 fee, and a 5% surcharge on the outstanding balance would apply for payments made past this date.
The decision, confirmed by Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Buyinza Mukadasi on October 16, 2024, is aims at supporting students facing registration challenges.
It has been communicated to key university officials, including the Vice Chancellor and Academic Registrar, for timely implementation.
Students have been urged to take advantage of this opportunity to complete their registration before the extended deadline.
