Every student’s wish is to study hard, ace papers and get straight As, graduate and land a juicy job after graduation. This, however, will not be the case with Yasin Aligawesa, as his life (that was just beginning to take off) has been nipped in the bud.
Yasin was a student at Uganda’s biggest public university, Makerere, who graduated this January.
Yasin, like many graduates, remained staying in his rental in Kawanda, a Kampala suburb after graduating. As fate would would have it, the second class upper graduate is believed to have been murdered by notorious iron bar wielding hit men as he returned from watching the Manchester United Vs Liverpool match on Thursday night.
His friends describe the deceased as a humble, down to earth guy who was determined to get his dream job. “He had dropped myriads of applications to different organisations hoping to be taken up. I loved his enthusiasm. Yasin was not afraid to try to get out and hunt for a job. I will miss my friend,” Jonathan, a pal to the deceased told this website whilst trying to hold back his tears.
He will be laid to rest this weekend. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
