Shocking news coming in from Makerere University indicates that a female fresher was raped few days ago as she tried to seek help from a stranger. According to Makerere’s head of security Jackson Mucunguzi, this girl approached an unidentified guy to charge her phone, little did she know that he was a monster.
While narrating to Mucunguzi, this fresher revealed that the guy picked her outside the University and asked her to sit on a Boda Boda as he promised to charge her phone from his nearby hostel. The journey turned out to be longer than expected after the two ended up in a lodge in Nankulabye.
After noticing that she was in a lodge instead of a hostel, she tried to get out but the guy later pulled out a knife and threatened to stab her to death if she denied giving in sex. The innocent fresher had no option but comply with the guy’s demands.
According to Afande Mucunguzi, the girl described her abuser as a very smartly dressed guy who she did not suspect of being a rapist. Besides being forced into sex, the guy also took off with the phone she had wanted to be charged. Mucunguzi, during orientation day on Friday at the Freedom Square, told freshers to be cautious and desist from trusting strangers.
