The Makerere University academics registrar has been advised to give an ear to the case of Bwiruka Bala David concerning his dismissal from the ongoing contest of the Guild Presidential seat.
During the hearing that was conducted by Justice Yasin Nyanzi, Makerere University Academic Registrar was directed to give the applicant Bala David a proper hearing and as well reasons on his dismissal.
Mr. Bala’s lawyer Isaac Kimaze Ssemakadde says that they will make the results of the case public so that their supporters are able to see every progress of the case.
According to Bala, the judge’s decision was what he expected because he believes that university electoral commission has no right to exclude him out of the Guild Campaigns because he has all the required qualifications to participate.
According to Bala’s affidavit, the academic registrar and the Electoral Commission must give their candidate proper reasons why he is not eligible to contest in the Guild Presidential Campaigns.
The hearing is scheduled to take place from the 11th of March till the 12th of March 2015. In this case, the Academic Registrar will then decide whether to give the applicant a time extension so that he can prepare himself well.
