Shamim Nambassa, Makerere university’s 87th guild president excited male students on Sunday 6th March, 2022 as she played in the men’s soccer team making many crave to her hug.
The 87th guild organized a football match between GRCs and cabinet in which Shamim Nambassa played as a stunning number 9 for the latter.
This excited many of the male students who kept cheering her throughout the entire first half only to later wash off her sweat with hugs.
The Bee witnessed a couple of students lined up to hug Shamim Nambassa during the first half break and throughout the entire second half with some posing for take home pictures to share with their friends.
The cabinet side, for which Shamim Nambassa played, proved to be mightier both in politics and sport as it emerged victorious after defeating the GRC side with 3 goals scored into their net as opposed to zero from the GRCs.
The cabinet lineup was led by Calvin Mugambwa Mwesigwa, the 87th health Minister and the ICT minister was left to employ his technological skills to guard the goal, a job he proved to be good at.
Among other ministers on the team was Bbosa Edwind Price, the justice and constitutional affairs minister who was tasked to quit defending the constitution to command the team’s defense; and while Shamim Nambassa took on the forward position, her Deputy Nelson Ssewanyana comfortably sat on the substitute bench cheering on his boss.
The 87th guild house seems to have switched to the smooth end of their political tenure with the football game coming only days after their return from the Tanzania trip.
