Makerere University has continued to improve in its global and continental rankings.
According to the latest rankings released by the Centre for World University Rankings (CWUR), the University has risen by 22 positions in the world from 891st in 2014 to the current 869th.
The organisation publishes the only global university ranking that measures the quality of education and training of students.
Meanwhile the University has also been ranked 3rd amongst the leading research institutions by the Times higher education.
South African Universities dominated the top 15 ranking with the University of Cape Town (UCT) topping the table.
The University of Nairobi came in at the 8th position while other countries like Nigeria, Morocco, Ghana and Egypt were also represented in the top 15.
