The Makerere University Appointments’ Board has issued fresh summons against Dr. Stella Nyanzi for using abusive and offensive language against the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports.
In the summons issued to her on Friday the 18th day of October, the Appointments Board alleges that Dr. Nyanzi used her Facebook page at different intervals to abuse the First Lady and Education Minister, Janet Museveni.
The Board also purports that the Acts of Dr. Stella Nyanzi contravenes Section 5.7 of the Human Resources Manual, 2009 (as amended) and therefore tarnish the reputation of the University in the face of the Education Minister.
“You, Dr. Stella Nyanzi while using your social media page on 29th March 2017 used abusive and insulting language while referring to the Minister of Education and Sports. You among others referred to her as lazy pig, big-thighed cow, poisonous snake, and certified approved fool,” the summons read in a part.
“You are hereby required to appear before the appointments board, Makerere University on 23rd October in the Senior Common room,” it read.
In response to the summons, Nyanzi asserted that she was only speaking the truth.
“When did I ever deny speaking the truth about a fool? The truth liberates! I will defend the truths that I speak,” said the outspoken Dr. Stella Nyanzi
She went on to claim that she did not in any way tarnish the image of the University and it was disrespectful of the University to claim so.
