Makerere University has launched a public fair on certificates and transcripts to enable its alumni collect academic transcripts and certificates.
The two-week public fair was launched on November 8 at the institution’s Freedom Square.
Speaking at the launch, Prof Barnabas Nawangwe said certificates formed the bigger number of uncollected academic documents.
Prof. Buyinza Mukadasi, the Academic Registrar, said that the move is intended to renew Makerere University’s commitment to all its alumni.
“We want to renew our commitment to all our alumni and those interested in pursuing their academic careers at this university that we are a credible flagship university, and we remain committed to our ideals to develop the human resource capacity in this country, region and globally. Therefore the internal challenges you face are core to our business and we want to solve them jointly,” he said.
The Public Fair on Academic Transcripts and Certificates is a new initiative to tackle the ever-present complaints regarding delays and unexplained loss of academic documents at the great hill.
