Makerere University has today, 26th June, 2023, officially launched the MaKEnewsletter.
The first issue has been titled ‘The Legacy’ e-newsletter that has been released by Makerere Endowment Fund in order to highlight the outstanding accomplishments, alumni’s successes.
The Newsletter will provide the latest news and updates such as important announcements, upcoming events, and spotlights on new initiatives and projects at the university.
It will also be a platform to advertise latest arrivals at the souvenir shop and inform alumni on how to access these both within and outside Uganda.
During the launch, the chairperson of the Endowment fund Mr. Barnabas Tumusingize revealed that this idea was born out of the collective vision and dedication of the current Board of Trustees, who recognized the need for a powerful communication tool to connect with our esteemed alumni.
“Today, we celebrate the realization of that vision, as the Legacy e-newsletter becomes a vital bridge linking Makerere University to its over 400,000 living alumni across the globe.” Mr. Tumusingize stated.
“The Legacy e-newsletter aims to showcase remarkable achievements, highlight the accomplishments of our alumni, and provide a platform for them to connect with their Alma Mater,” he added.
At he same event, the launch of MaKEnewsletter, according to the Vice Chancellor Prof Barnabas Nawangwe, could not have come at a better time because Makerere will have just finished a year-long centenary celebration with the theme “Leveraging 100 Years of Excellence in Building a Transformed Society” in October 2022.
