The Makerere University community is currently mourning the death of Chris Kitale, a lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Finance, School of Business, College of Business and Management Sciences.
He previously lectured students of the Bachelor of Commerce External program who are deeply saddened and shocked by the unfortunate news. Chris passed away yesterday in transit from Mulago Hospital to Paragon Hospital.
Chris Kitale was a member of the Makerere University Academic Staff Association (MUASA), where he was serving as the treasurer at the time of his death.
The MUASA Chairman Dr Deus Kamunyu described him as a rising academic in the field of public accounting and finance, who wished to turn MUASA into a very productive association to its members and was pro strong and accountable public service.
“CPA Kitale will be deeply missed by the MUASA Fraternity. His departure is indeed a great loss to Makerere University and the Academic Staff Association that he loved so much. He joined the MUASA Executive in Feb 2020 and was laying a strong foundation for the association’s investments and savings,” Dr Kamunyu mentioned as he eulogised the late Kitale.
