Makerere University’s College of veterinary medicine, animal resources and bio-security has been given two weeks to vacate the 9.5 acres of land were the school is allocated. Following reports on Wednesday that this land has been sold to a private developer.
According to information reaching our desk, the government of Uganda had got the land on which this college of medicine rests in early days from Church of Uganda on loan which it failed to pay in time. When the period expired for paying out the loan, it was given to an undisclosed company on lease. Court this week ordered Makerere to vacate this land.
According to the guild president David Bala, the corrupt administration is hugely responsible for swindling the funds meant to offset the land. More details are to come through.
