Uganda’s premier university, Makerere has released a plan of action ahead of the long awaited Guild elections.
This plan of action indicates the activities that started on 12th March and will go on till 7th April. In a letter dated 15th March 2020 from the university’s Electoral Commission (EC) to the members of the guild house and the entire institution, the chairman of the Electoral commission, Jackson Twijukye indicates that the call for nomination of Guild Presidential aspirants spearheaded the roadmap of the guild elections and it shall be closed by the election of GRCS.
Other subsequent activities that are to take place include submission of application for verification, sensitization and civic education, verification of aspiring candidates, collection and issuing of nomination forms, submission of Academic certificate for standing, issuing of certificate of nomination, consultative meeting, guild debates and rallies, election of the guild president among other activities.
