Makerere University lecturer and senior researcher at the School of Computing and Informatics Technology (CIT) has been appointed the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Information Technology and National Guidance.
Also a member of the National Information Technology Authority Uganda (NITA-U) Board of Directors, the academician has served at the university in different positions for the last 15 years. Dr Zawedde replaces Mr. Vicent Bagyiire at the ministry.
She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands and is a Certified Information Systems Auditor.
About Dr Zawedde
Dr. Aminah Zawedde holds a PhD (Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands), an MSc. Computer Science (Makerere University), a PGDip in Educational Technologies (University of Cape Town, South Africa) and a BSc. (Statistics and Economics) (Makerere University, Uganda).
Her expertise is in the following; research, modelling for decision support, process improvement, system integration and capacity building. She has consolidated this with information systems security and audit.
De Zawedde is a member of the International System Dynamics Society, a founding member of the System Dynamics Africa Chapter and is currently the Organizing Secretary of this Chapter. She has written and published papers in IT peer reviewed journals, and presented some at international conferences.
